An emerging generation in a changing world

Since the beginning of the 21st century, the world has focused its attention on China. Not only because of its impressive economic growth, but also because of the cultural transformation the country is undergoing. In particular, the generation of artists who grew up in the 1980s plays a crucial role in this. Their work reflects a unique perspective on a changing society, free from Western conventions and loaded ideologies.

The new generation of artists born after 1995 is rewriting the rules of the global art world and offers a sober, sharp view of the complex social reality of contemporary China. Our collection of artists distinguishes itself through the finest craftsmanship and great authenticity.

Galerie Kunstbroeders was founded in 2010 by Rijk Schipper,  who after 30 year in leading positions of a multinational changed drastically his career after 6 years of residence in China and so laid the foundation for his deep passion for the country and its art. By bringing artists and art lovers together, Galerie Kunstbroeders strives for a cultural dialogue.
