LIANG BIN BIN- NIEUW BINNEN! ‘WALKMAN’ en ‘HEART OF THE HORIZON’

‘THE WALKMAN’
This work is inspired by the reflection of people in the water, and is a three-dimensional response to the reflection in the water. The sculpture presents the image of a walking person, which gradually changes from the realistic style of footsteps to the abstract form of the head. The whole presents a natural transition from reality to fantasy. The sculpture is named Walkmen, which is a tribute to a music tape player more than 20 years ago.
‘HEART OF THE HORIZON’

This sculpture is inspired by a yoga pose. This special pose forms a clear echo relationship with the water splash in the lower part, forming a heart shape as a whole.

The figure and the water splash form a contrast relationship on both sides of the horizon. The figure’s flowing hair slowly turns into blue water splash, and the end of the water splash and the figure’s feet form a complete spatial relationship.

Background
Born in 1979 in China. Grew up and did studies at the Beijing Institute of Art & Design. Continued studies and obtained a sculpture diploma in fine arts at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in 2005 in Beijing. and received a Bachelor’s degree ( sculpture department ) from the CAFA.
Past over 20 years, he focussed on the field of sculpture; his works are exhibited in many galleries and museumsMedium
He uses many different mediums, such as clay, acrylics and bronze. He acquired a solid technique and artistic modelling experience in different materials in the studios of different master sculptors.
His Art Path
For several years, he immersed in the world of clay and bronze. He picked up the most basic and most familiar creative ways, and tried to use the current visual experience to sort out new understanding of sculpture art. He uses realistic techniques to create unrealistic scenarios. These unrealistic scenarios are what the current cultural psychology needs to be expressed. This also constitutes his exploration of the possibility of combining current culture and traditional techniques.
